🌐 Talu Crypt Is Now on the Web
· Par Talu
For four years, Talu Crypt has been a Windows app. It now also runs in your browser at app.talucrypt.com: nothing to install, and it works on Mac, Linux or any computer with a modern browser. Like the desktop app, it is free.
🧭 What the Web App Does
- ✅ Your portfolio at a glance: total value, allocation and the detail of every asset.
- ✅ Blockchain wallets: add public addresses — Bitcoin (including xPub), Ethereum, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Polygon, PulseChain, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and more — and the app fetches balances and transactions for you.
- ✅ Exchanges: connect your accounts with read-only API keys.
- ✅ Assets added by hand, for anything that is not supported yet.
- ✅ Several portfolios, the market and news tabs, the AI portfolio review and the Bitfinex margin view.
- ✅ A Bitcoin sentiment tab that sums up what well-known YouTube analysts said in their latest videos.
- ✅ English and French.
🖥️ What Stays on the Desktop App
The Windows app is not going anywhere. It keeps all your data on your PC, and a few tools, such as the trading grid calculator, are only available there for now. If you already use it, nothing changes.
🔐 Where Your Data Lives
This is the one real difference between the two versions, so here it is plainly:
- Desktop: your portfolio, your addresses and your exchange API keys are stored on your computer and never reach our server.
- Web: so that you can reach your portfolio from any device, your account, portfolios, addresses and exchange API keys are stored on our server, in France. Use read-only API keys.
The privacy policy lists exactly what is stored, why, for how long and who else receives it. If you want your data to never leave your computer, the desktop app is the right choice.
🚪 How to Get In
The web app opens on its sign-in page, with an email address or a Google account. New sign-ups are paused for the moment: existing accounts can sign in, and Discord is the place to hear when sign-ups reopen.
